We are excited to be working with Edinburgh City Mission on an initial four-year funded project to create a befriending scheme across Edinburgh. The first key step was taken in mid November when we were delighted to appoint Julie Young to the role of Development Officer. This role will involve liaising with local churches, charities and statutory agencies in the city to build partnerships and research key areas of need. Here is a bit of background about Julie….
Originally from the northeast United States, Julie and her husband moved to Edinburgh in August of 2021. She has worked mostly in community development work in the past and looks forward to continuing that in this role. Julie will be launching a Two’s Company befriending scheme for isolated older people in Edinburgh through a partnership between Linking Lives UK and Edinburgh City Mission.
