Two’s Company Keswick up and running

The Two’s Company Keswick befriending scheme covering Keswick and the wider CA12 area is now up and running. Based in Keswick Library, Fiona Overend is the scheme coordinator and Keith Rigg the scheme leader.  The first ten volunteers are being recruited and trained ready to be linked up with the first scheme members referred. Keith Rigg said, ‘We are thankful to the hard work of the set-up group and a generous grant from Cumbria Community Foundation through the Abbeyfield Carlisle Society Over 55 Community First Fund to get the scheme set up for the first year’.  Fiona Overend said ‘We are looking forward to recruiting more volunteers and scheme members in our efforts to help reduce loneliness and social isolation within our community.’
