Developed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Two’s Company provides a safe yet effective way to reach those in need of company. The model is based on the tried and tested home visiting approach which has been used by Linking Lives UK since 2012 and enables volunteers to be in regular contact by telephone with those in the community who are most at risk of loneliness or social isolation.
The model offers a clear framework for befriending, ongoing support for the coordinator and a variety of resources for local churches to use. In addition to this, comprehensive training is provided by video conferencing to coordinators, and this is then cascaded to volunteers in the local church.
