Bellingham Linking Lives appoints a part-time Coordinator

24.03.2022

Anna Post started her new role as the paid part-time Coordinator of Bellingham Linking Lives on 1st March 2022. Her induction process has included meeting the scheme’s Steering Group and introducing herself to existing volunteer visitors and local referral agencies. She says “I am delighted to be involved in this work, and look forward to getting to know people in Bellingham.”

With previous experience as an events coordinator, school governor, and most recently as a voluntary administrator for the Lewisham Donation Hub, Anna is well used to working with volunteers. As Coordinator for Bellingham Linking Lives she will be matching visitors with scheme members referred from GP practices and Community Connections, as well as connecting to activity groups in Bellingham with space for new members.

Fiona Thomas, who had been coordinating Bellingham Linking Lives in a volunteer capacity for the previous 15 months will now become the new Chair of the project’s Steering Group, taking over from Revd Raymond Singh. He first saw the possibilities of responding to loneliness and isolation in Bellingham in this way, and was pleased to see the scheme up and running before his retirement in March. Hosted by Christ Church United Reformed Church on behalf of Churches Together in Bellingham, Bellingham Linking Lives is a member group of Linking Lives UK, and is currently funded until February 2023 through a grant from the National Lottery’s Awards for All.
