Annual Linking Lives Conference – 02/03/19
The theme of this year’s Annual Conference is ‘Valuing Volunteers’. We have some inspiring speakers, updates on latest developments in the work of Linking Lives UK, practical workshops and great networking opportunities!
Our main speaker is James Newcome, Bishop of Carlisle. James is the Bishop in the House of Lords with responsibility for Health and Social Care and medical ethics. He has a concern to ensure that loneliness and social isolation are addressed nationally, and became a patron of Linking Lives UK in 2017.
We will also be pleased to welcome Olivia Field as our second main speaker. Olivia is the Senior Policy Adviser in the government’s Loneliness Unit at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sports. She also holds a key role within Red Cross focusing on loneliness and isolation.
We will be running workshops on the following subjects:
- Inter-generational Working
- Social Prescribing
- Spirituality and Older Age
- Reaching and Keeping volunteers
- Building Local Networks and partnerships
The event will be free to representatives from our existing partner projects. Others with an interest in attending the event are welcome to join us, although there will be a conference fee of £15 payable.
